Chilean miner Edison Pena ran the first half of the New York City Marathon in two hours and seven minutes, until knee pain and exhaustion forced him to walk for 10 miles. He slapped on two ice packs at a first-aid station and got treated for cramps at a medical tent in the 18th mile, but he kept on going, and finished the marathon in 5 hours, 40 minutes and 51seconds!
“The Wonder of You” by his favorite artist Elvis blared out of the speakers as he crossed the finish line.
